HISTORIC RICE MILL CHARLESTON

Built in 1861, the Historic Rice Mill is a unique wedding venue located in downtown Charleston. Featuring exposed brick, wooden floors, pressed tin ceilings, and views of the Charleston Marina, the Historic Rice Mill is the perfect wedding venue for couples who love the water.

The Historic Rice Mill is one of only three Antebellum rice mills located in Charleston and it is the only one that is still standing.

the highlights

01.

Getting Ready

Since the Historic Rice Mill does not offer any formal getting ready space on-site, I recommend that clients book a hotel or AirBNB in downtown Charleston that provides plenty of space and ample natural light, so that your hair + makeup team and photographer can spread out and take full advantage of that natural light!

02.

Ceremony Space

Whether you choose to get married in front of the Rice Mill under the oaks (my personal favorite) or overlooking the water on the back of the building, you really can't go wrong!

03.

Reception Space

The indoor space at the Historic Rice Mill features large windows and exposed brick, which creates a warm space for the reception. The dance floor and bar are somewhat separate from the dining space, which allows both the party animals + table sitters to enjoy their night!
