Built in 1825, the Thomas Bennett House is as sweet + Southern as they come. Featuring a beautiful piazza, quiet garden, and classic oyster tabby courtyard, it is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is the perfect setting for a true Southern wedding experience.
The Governor Thomas Bennett House is a stunning historic home, tucked away in the heart of downtown Charleston.
The second story of the Thomas Bennett House is the perfect space for the bride + bridesmaids to get ready! Featuring large windows and plenty of room to spread out, it's a great "home base" for the day. I usually recommend having the groom + groomsmen arrive at the venue before the First Look and finish getting ready downstairs for a cohesive look in your full gallery of images.

some suggestions for having your wedding at THE GOVERNOR THOMAS BENNETT HOUSE:
01
The beautiful garden at the Thomas Bennett House is incredibly special and picturesque. Whether you want to decorate the fountain, add a beautiful floral arch, or bring in wooden church pews... this sweet ceremony location is yours to customize!

Tenting the oyster tabby courtyard creates a well-defined reception space where your friends + family can dine together and dance the night away. I'm partial to the Sperry tent because it gives the space a light + airy feel!
