Featuring 1786-era architecture, a covered piazza, centuries old live oaks, and the best sunsets in Charleston, the Lowndes Grove Plantation really has it all. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, making Lowndes Grove the perfect setting for a true lowcountry wedding experience.
Lowndes Grove is a one-of-a-kind restored estate situated along the Ashley River, just miles from the heart of downtown Charleston.

Lowndes Grove is the PERFECT place to get ready on your wedding day! The bridal suite on the second level is light + bright, which is amazing for both your hair + makeup team, as well as your photographer! I usually recommend having the groom + groomsmen arrive at the venue before the First Look and finish getting ready downstairs for a cohesive look in your full gallery of images.

Whether you choose to get married on the grand lawn, in front of the dock, or on the side of the Main House, having the Ashley River and the sunset as your background is absolute perfection! Add some beautiful wooden pews or a stunning floral arch installment and it's a recipe for swoon-worthy photos that you'll cherish forever!

Most couples utilize the permanent clear top tent that covers the side patio of the venue. A beautiful alternative to this is to install a sailcloth tent in front of the house, where everyone can dine - and use the patio as a hub for lounges and the dance floor. PRO TIP: in the late spring and summer months, be sure to line the clear top tent so it doesn't get too hot!
If you're looking for a wedding photographer for your Lowndes Grove wedding, I'd love to be considered. I'm very familiar with this magnificent property and would love the opportunity to work with you!
