When Katie first told me about her wedding day vision – a classic brunch wedding overlooking the water at the iconic Ocean Course on Kiawah Island – I knew it was going to be such a beautiful celebration. There really isn’t anything like a Kiawah Island wedding! A custom Modern Trousseau ball gown, topped with a lace bolero, was the perfect pick for her sophisticated style. Paired with a pearl bracelet that she borrowed from family and a pair of blue topaz + diamond David Yurman stud earrings, she was a vision of timeless beauty. Simple yet elegant florals and decor complemented the natural beauty of the venue, allowing the location and water view to really shine.
They chose just two people to stand next to them on their wedding day – her sister and his best friend – but they were surrounded by nothing but love and support throughout the day. All of Katie’s best friends got ready with her and wore navy dresses as honorary bridesmaids. Katie’s dad walked her down the aisle as a bagpiper played and onlookers cheered as if Steve had just won the Master’s after they exchanged vows. Such a fun moment! After their ceremony, guests mingled and dined on brunch favorites – and then, the real party began.

Thanks to balmy February temperatures, guests were able to enjoy the day on the back lawn, lounging and sipping on cocktails, celebrating Katie + Steve. Katie spent the ENTIRE afternoon and evening on the dance floor, as ATL Groove Factory kept the party going past sunset. At one point, I asked Katie if she wanted any more portraits before sunset and she said “please don’t take me away from my party!” I told her, “I’d never do that!” and she kept dancing! ATL Groove Factory played for 4 hours on stage without even one break – incredible!! It was such a beautiful day with the best people and I couldn’t be more honored to be a part of it. Here are some of my favorites from Katie + Steve’s classic Kiawah wedding at the Ocean Course…

Some places hold more than memories – they hold generations. For Madeline + Porter, Hilton Head wasn’t just a beautiful setting for their wedding day at Sea Pines Resort; it was part of their family story long before they ever said “I do.” With both of their parents having been married on Hilton Head and […]

Nine years of growing up together gives you a certain steadiness – the kind that doesn’t panic when plans unravel. That quiet confidence defined Walker + Addi Grace’s wedding day at Boone Hall, even as steady rain reshaped nearly every detail of their celebration. High school sweethearts who met as freshmen and now call Columbia, […]

Some wedding days unfold exactly as planned. Others ask you to let go, adapt, and trust what matters most. Lauren and Billy’s wedding at Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head was very much the latter – and in many ways, that’s what made it so meaningful. Elegant, sophisticated, and deeply classic in style, their day […]

Mayzie + Hyrum’s intimate celebration at the Ocean Course on Kiawah gave me allllll of the Ralph Lauren vibes. When I look back at these images, I’m instantly transported – there’s something so Americana and nostalgic about the day, in the best possible way. Maybe it’s the classic blue hydrangea bouquet, effortlessly timeless. Maybe it’s […]

When it comes to tipping wedding vendors, there’s often a lot of conflicting information – especially when it comes to tipping photographers. Should you tip them? If so, how much? And who exactly should receive it – the lead photographer or their team? The truth is, while tipping your wedding photographer is never expected, it’s […]

Erin and Buddy’s Ocean Course Kiawah wedding was a day designed to feel calm, unrushed, and genuinely enjoyable for everyone involved, especially the two of them. The morning unfolded slowly, just as they’d planned. No chaos, no overstuffed schedule. Erin and Buddy got ready separately, knowing they had built in what so many couples forget […]
