Nine years of growing up together gives you a certain steadiness – the kind that doesn’t panic when plans unravel. That quiet confidence defined Walker + Addi Grace’s wedding day at Boone Hall, even as steady rain reshaped nearly every detail of their celebration. High school sweethearts who met as freshmen and now call Columbia, South Carolina home, these two went into their wedding day with one clear intention: to be present. To enjoy time with their families and friends, and to let the day unfold with meaning, not pressure. That mindset became their anchor as weather forced a series of pivots – and ultimately, it’s what made the day feel grounded, joyful, and deeply personal.
Boone Hall’s historic beauty set the tone for their vision: elegant yet natural, airy and romantic, layered with lush greenery and colorful florals that brought softness and warmth to the space. Even as the skies opened and rain poured steadily throughout the day, that vision never wavered – it simply adapted. Because of the weather, plans shifted quickly. The ceremony moved from the front lawn to under the pavilion, guests were transported by bus through muddy grounds, and cocktail hour was brought indoors. It was one of those days where flexibility became essential – and Walker + Addi Grace met every change with grace and calm.
We were incredibly fortunate to find a beautiful, sheltered spot in front of the historic main house for their First Look and portraits, allowing them to share quiet moments together before everything began. After their First Look, they exchanged private vows – a grounding pause in an otherwise fast-moving day – giving them space to connect, breathe, and remember what the day was truly about. Despite the rain and the logistical challenges, what stood out most was the energy surrounding them. Their families were unwaveringly positive, supportive, and joyful – lifting the couple up at every turn. That spirit carried through the entire celebration, transforming what could have been a stressful day into one filled with laughter, love, and resilience.
Walker + Addi Grace’s wedding is a beautiful reminder that while weather may change the plan, it never has to change the meaning. When you’re surrounded by people who show up with open hearts and the right attitude, even the rainiest days can become some of the most memorable. Their wedding day was truly a joy to be a part of and one that I will never, ever forget!

Charleston weather likes to keep everyone on their toes, but even by Lowcountry standards, Caroline and Cody’s wedding day was memorable. Maren and Kevin’s wedding at Ford Field + River Club in Savannah was the kind of day that felt effortlessly relaxed from beginning to end. Bridal portraits offer a rare pause in the wedding season – a moment to step away from timelines and celebrations and focus entirely on the bride herself. Bri’s bridal portrait session took place at a private residence in downtown Charleston, and the setting could not have been more perfect. Rich teal walls, layered textures, patterned […]
