When I got the opportunity to shoot Angela + Alexander’s destination in Barcelona, Spain, I almost couldn’t believe it. I’ve been working so hard to build my destination wedding portfolio and I’d never visited Spain before – so it was a no-brainer for me. With the help + guidance of Taryn + Dani of Taryn Stark Wyant Events, their intimate wedding day came together perfectly. Villa Valentina is located about 35 minutes north of Barcelona, in the municipality of Sant Andreu de Llavaneres. Perched high above the town, in the beautiful hills of Spain, Villa Valentina is a small, quiet villa featuring 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a private pool, and common space for up to 18 guests. The entire US-based vendor team got to stay on-site for this destination wedding and it was absolutely magical. It’s such a special property!
Angela + Alexander envisioned a wedding that celebrated the colors, food, and culture of Spain. They got engaged in Mallorca, so Spain was a special place for them to start their marriage together. With 20 of their closest family + friends, they said “I do!” in a beautiful garden ceremony, set against a greenery-covered wall adorned with flowers. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour by the pool, dining on traditional Spanish cuisine including seafood paella and fresh sliced Jamon Iberico – also known as Iberian ham. As the sun set, everyone sat down for a multi-course dinner under the stars and spent the evening in celebration of the couple.
After dinner, a local Flamenco group performed for everyone and it was absolutely incredible. The guitar music, the singing, the dancing… it was incredibly special and a definite highlight of the day. Angela + Alexander’s wedding day was a true Spanish celebration and it is a wedding day that I will always remember. Here are some of my favorites from their gorgeous destination wedding at Villa Valentina in Barcelona, Spain…

Some wedding days unfold exactly as planned. Others ask you to let go, adapt, and trust what matters most. Lauren and Billy’s wedding at Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head was very much the latter – and in many ways, that’s what made it so meaningful. Elegant, sophisticated, and deeply classic in style, their day […]

Mayzie + Hyrum’s intimate celebration at the Ocean Course on Kiawah gave me allllll of the Ralph Lauren vibes. When I look back at these images, I’m instantly transported – there’s something so Americana and nostalgic about the day, in the best possible way. Maybe it’s the classic blue hydrangea bouquet, effortlessly timeless. Maybe it’s […]

When it comes to tipping wedding vendors, there’s often a lot of conflicting information – especially when it comes to tipping photographers. Should you tip them? If so, how much? And who exactly should receive it – the lead photographer or their team? The truth is, while tipping your wedding photographer is never expected, it’s […]

Erin and Buddy’s Ocean Course Kiawah wedding was a day designed to feel calm, unrushed, and genuinely enjoyable for everyone involved, especially the two of them. The morning unfolded slowly, just as they’d planned. No chaos, no overstuffed schedule. Erin and Buddy got ready separately, knowing they had built in what so many couples forget […]

Some wedding days go exactly as planned. Nicole and Thomas’ Boone Hall wedding reminded me why the ones that don’t often stay with you the longest. The morning began bright and full of promise — sunshine filtering through the trees, that unmistakable calm before everything begins. Boone Hall in the summer always feels expansive and […]

Alyssa and Joe’s colorful Magnolia Plantation wedding was the kind of wedding day that I just LOVE photographing – easy, joyful, and beautifully unbothered by expectation. Last summer, they gathered about 50 of their closest family and friends for a brunch celebration that felt more like a garden party than a formal event, and that […]
