Mary Catherine and Ryan’s wedding celebration at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island was a colorful, joy-filled day with a fun Palm Beach-inspired twist! Born and raised in Beaufort, South Carolina, Mary Catherine wanted to celebrate their marriage close to home after an intimate destination wedding in Bora Bora.
In September, Mary Catherine and Ryan traveled to Bora Bora to officially tie the knot, surrounded by just their immediate families. But they also wanted the opportunity to celebrate with their extended family and friends back in the Lowcountry, and The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island was the perfect setting!
Their reception was anything but traditional, featuring a vibrant palette of bright pinks and greens, tropical-inspired florals, palm tree details, and playful patterns. The design felt fresh, colorful, and effortlessly chic, bringing a little Palm Beach flair to the beautiful Kiawah Island setting. From the custom green bar to the bright pink linens and whimsical floral arrangements, every detail was full of personality.
Mother Nature brought plenty of wind to the celebration, but that didn’t stop anyone from having an incredible time! Guests gathered on The Sanctuary’s oceanfront lawn for cocktails, conversation, and a beautiful afternoon celebrating the newlyweds. Mary Catherine looked stunning in her chic white reception dress, and the two shared plenty of sweet moments before dancing the evening away with their favorite people.
I loved how Mary Catherine and Ryan created a wedding experience that was completely their own – an intimate ceremony in paradise followed by a lively celebration surrounded by everyone they love back home. Mary Catherine and Ryan, thank you so much for having me capture this beautiful celebration and here’s to many years of love and happiness together!
