When Irene reached out to me, asking if I’d be willing to do a portrait session at Palazzo Avino with them, it was an immediate YES!! Irene was a bridesmaid in Michelle + Craig’s Tenuta Verdoliva wedding in Naples, so getting the opportunity to work with her + her husband Michael was a dream come true. I say it all the time, but I mean it- I am truly the luckiest wedding photographer in the world. The fact that I have clients willing to fly me over to Italy for their weddings, elopements, and portrait sessions is mind-blowing. Ever since I first visited Italy in 2017, it’s felt like “home” to me and every time I visit a new city, I fall in love all over again.
Palazzo Avino is a 5-star boutique hotel in Ravello, Italy – a small town along the Amalfi Coast. High up on the hill, the property overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and several smaller fishing villages below. With it’s pink plaster walls, stunning gardens, and incredible views, Palazzo Avino is a very special place to see and visit. I am incredibly blessed to have gotten the opportunity to photograph Irene + Michael here – and I’m hoping to return someday to photograph a wedding there!
We met at the crack of dawn for our portrait session and I’m really glad we did because rain storms rolled into the area just as we were finishing up. I loved Irene’s choice of wearing a bright red dress. It really popped among all of the greenery on the property. Her husband Michael wore a matching red tie and they looked absolutely fabulous together! The best part was that we met later that same week for drinks at Franco’s, a famous bar with the best views of Positano. I love connecting on a personal level with my couples and this was just a really special time for all of us in Italy. Here are some of my favorite images from Irene + Michael’s portrait session at Palazzo Avino…

Maui is a special place to Suzanne + Scooter, so saying “I do!” at the Hana-Maui Resort was kind of a no-brainer. Scooter’s parents were actually married there, so it seemed fitting to continue the tradition! With the help of Taryn Stark Wyant Events, they planned an amazing destination wedding on Maui and their wedding […]

When Michelle reached out and asked if I’d be willing to travel to Italy for their intimate destination wedding at Tenuta Verdoliva, it was an immediate yes! I absolutely love traveling and Italy is definitely my home away from home, so I’ll take any chance I can to go back. Their weekend started off with […]
I first met Carrie a few years ago when she interned with a local wedding planner. We stayed in touch through the years and when she got engaged to her longtime love, she asked me if I would photograph her wedding. It’s always such an honor when someone in the wedding industry asks you to […]
I recently wrote a post about how much wedding photographers cost in Charleston, but I wanted to write another post to talk about the cost of wedding photographers in general. Total wedding investments are all over the place and the “average” wedding investment can differ from location to location. For example, on average, a wedding […]
When I got the opportunity to shoot Angela + Alexander’s destination in Barcelona, Spain, I almost couldn’t believe it. I’ve been working so hard to build my destination wedding portfolio and I’d never visited Spain before – so it was a no-brainer for me. With the help + guidance of Taryn + Dani of Taryn […]
