When Irene reached out to me, asking if I’d be willing to do a portrait session at Palazzo Avino with them, it was an immediate YES!! Irene was a bridesmaid in Michelle + Craig’s Tenuta Verdoliva wedding in Naples, so getting the opportunity to work with her + her husband Michael was a dream come true. I say it all the time, but I mean it- I am truly the luckiest wedding photographer in the world. The fact that I have clients willing to fly me over to Italy for their weddings, elopements, and portrait sessions is mind-blowing. Ever since I first visited Italy in 2017, it’s felt like “home” to me and every time I visit a new city, I fall in love all over again.
Palazzo Avino is a 5-star boutique hotel in Ravello, Italy – a small town along the Amalfi Coast. High up on the hill, the property overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and several smaller fishing villages below. With it’s pink plaster walls, stunning gardens, and incredible views, Palazzo Avino is a very special place to see and visit. I am incredibly blessed to have gotten the opportunity to photograph Irene + Michael here – and I’m hoping to return someday to photograph a wedding there!
We met at the crack of dawn for our portrait session and I’m really glad we did because rain storms rolled into the area just as we were finishing up. I loved Irene’s choice of wearing a bright red dress. It really popped among all of the greenery on the property. Her husband Michael wore a matching red tie and they looked absolutely fabulous together! The best part was that we met later that same week for drinks at Franco’s, a famous bar with the best views of Positano. I love connecting on a personal level with my couples and this was just a really special time for all of us in Italy. Here are some of my favorite images from Irene + Michael’s portrait session at Palazzo Avino…

Some wedding days unfold exactly as planned. Others ask you to let go, adapt, and trust what matters most. Lauren and Billy’s wedding at Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head was very much the latter – and in many ways, that’s what made it so meaningful. Elegant, sophisticated, and deeply classic in style, their day […]

Mayzie + Hyrum’s intimate celebration at the Ocean Course on Kiawah gave me allllll of the Ralph Lauren vibes. When I look back at these images, I’m instantly transported – there’s something so Americana and nostalgic about the day, in the best possible way. Maybe it’s the classic blue hydrangea bouquet, effortlessly timeless. Maybe it’s […]

When it comes to tipping wedding vendors, there’s often a lot of conflicting information – especially when it comes to tipping photographers. Should you tip them? If so, how much? And who exactly should receive it – the lead photographer or their team? The truth is, while tipping your wedding photographer is never expected, it’s […]

Erin and Buddy’s Ocean Course Kiawah wedding was a day designed to feel calm, unrushed, and genuinely enjoyable for everyone involved, especially the two of them. The morning unfolded slowly, just as they’d planned. No chaos, no overstuffed schedule. Erin and Buddy got ready separately, knowing they had built in what so many couples forget […]

Some wedding days go exactly as planned. Nicole and Thomas’ Boone Hall wedding reminded me why the ones that don’t often stay with you the longest. The morning began bright and full of promise — sunshine filtering through the trees, that unmistakable calm before everything begins. Boone Hall in the summer always feels expansive and […]

Alyssa and Joe’s colorful Magnolia Plantation wedding was the kind of wedding day that I just LOVE photographing – easy, joyful, and beautifully unbothered by expectation. Last summer, they gathered about 50 of their closest family and friends for a brunch celebration that felt more like a garden party than a formal event, and that […]
