Maui is a special place to Suzanne + Scooter, so saying “I do!” at the Hana-Maui Resort was kind of a no-brainer. Scooter’s parents were actually married there, so it seemed fitting to continue the tradition! With the help of Taryn Stark Wyant Events, they planned an amazing destination wedding on Maui and their wedding weekend was absolutely incredible.
Historic rainfall that closed the iconic Road to Hana threatened their weekend of celebration, but Suzanne + Scooter handled the weather stress like true champions. Although the days leading up to their big day weren’t picture perfect, their family + friends rallied around them and made sure the party didn’t stop. The rain stopped on the morning of their wedding day and they were able to say “I do!” on the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, just as they envisioned.
Suzanne wore a gorgeous textured gown with floral appliques by Lela Rose and Scooter was the definition of dapper in his white dinner jacket tuxedo. They chose to forego a traditional wedding party and simply spent the day with their siblings and cousin by their side. After the traditional Hawaiian ceremony, guests were escorted up the hill to the Guest House – a beautiful pineapple plantation-style home across the street from the resort. Under a beautiful sail cloth tent, Teresa Sena and her team created the most beautiful + lush floral wonderland filled with the brightest blooms I’ve ever seen. The tablescapes featured patterned linens, colorful plates, print cloth napkins, and vibrant glassware by Estelle Colored Glass. Personalized menus doubled as escort cards and pendant lights were hung from the ceiling – as well as a giant floral installation over the dance floor.
This day couldn’t have been more up my alley. As a lover of color, patterns, over-the-top florals, and texture… this was literally MY dream wedding!! Here are some of my favorites from Suzanne + Scooter’s gorgeous Maui wedding at the Hana-Maui Resort…

I first met Tori back in 2016 when I photographed her older sister Kiersten’s wedding. Little did I know then that I would go on to photograph their sister Chelsea’s wedding in 2021 – and finally Tori’s wedding in 2024! Legacy clients are so special and the Stolen family means so much to me. They […]
When I first spoke to Elizabeth last June, I knew that her wedding day was going to be something special. She spoke about getting married in her hometown of Beaufort SC – first, a sweet ceremony at her local church, followed by a tented waterfront celebration filled with bright colors and palm accents. Elizabeth wanted […]
Lizzie + Nick’s colorful Charleston wedding at the William Aiken House was definitely one for the books. I absolutely loved spending this beautiful spring day with them, their families, and closest friends. The historic charm of the venue combined with Charleston’s vibrant atmosphere created a truly memorable setting for their colorful celebration. Lush floral arrangements […]
I was introduced to Cait through former DCW bride and fellow photographer, Lindsay, who had worked with Cait previously, but was not available for her wedding day. I’m SO thankful that Lindsay connected us because I immediately fell in love with Cait and her vision for a sweet, intimate wedding celebration in Charleston. Caitlin’s parents […]
When Katie first told me about her wedding day vision – a classic brunch wedding overlooking the water at the iconic Ocean Course on Kiawah Island – I knew it was going to be such a beautiful celebration. There really isn’t anything like a Kiawah Island wedding! A custom Modern Trousseau ball gown, topped with […]
I met up with Dawn + Joey in February for their beautiful engagement session here in Charleston. They brought their two beautiful pups, Willow + Cricket, along for part of the session… and boy, did they have a blast at Hampton Park?!? I am totally OBSESSED with the photos of them walking together (below) because […]
