There’s something undeniably magical about Charleston SC. The cobblestone alleyways, the historic charm, and the gentle breeze off of the water – which creates the perfect setting for love to flourish. When I had the opportunity to capture Hannah + Ashley’s engagement session on an overcast day this past September, I knew it would be nothing short of special.
From the moment they arrived, it was clear that their love is the kind that turns heads—not because it demands attention, but because it radiates warmth and authenticity. Walking along the Battery, they held hands, stealing sweet glances at each other, embodying a love that felt as natural as the city itself. Charleston’s pastel-hued buildings provided a picturesque backdrop, but it was their connection that made every shot shine.
We wandered through the charming neighborhood South of Broad, where it truly felt as if we had the city all to ourselves. Laughter echoed as they shared stories with me about their relationship, completely wrapped up in the moment. These weren’t just photos; they were glimpses into the life they are building together – full of joy, companionship, and unwavering support.
What made this session truly memorable wasn’t just the setting, but the undeniable truth that love is love, in all its forms. Their engagement session was about celebrating a journey, a partnership, and a future together. And that’s the beauty of love; it’s universal, timeless, and deeply personal all at once.
Charleston has long been a city where history is written in every brick and every ocean breeze. On this day, in this place, Hannah and Ashley added a new story – one of commitment, happiness, and an unbreakable bond. It was an honor to capture their love, and I can’t wait to see where their journey takes them next. They say “I do!” in just under a month and I absolutely cannot wait! Here are a few of my favorite images from their downtown Charleston SC engagement session…

After three years of being engaged and originally planning a much larger wedding, Allison and Jake decided to take a different path. When a place has been woven into your family’s traditions for years, there’s something especially meaningful about beginning your marriage there. For Addison, Kiawah Island has been a beloved part of life since childhood. So when it came time to choose a wedding location, bringing family and friends together on the island where so many […]

Charleston weather likes to keep everyone on their toes, but even by Lowcountry standards, Caroline and Cody’s wedding day was memorable. Rain fell for most of the day – a rarity in Charleston, especially when it seems determined to stick around from morning until ceremony time. Yet through every forecast update, timeline adjustment, and weather-related […]

Some wedding days are beautiful because of the details. Others are beautiful because of the people. Ansley and James’ wedding in Columbia, South Carolina was the rare combination of both. After seven years together, these two gathered their favorite people for a celebration that felt joyful, colorful, and completely centered on the relationships that matter […]

Maren and Kevin’s wedding at Ford Field + River Club in Savannah was the kind of day that felt effortlessly relaxed from beginning to end. Set beneath the Spanish moss and overlooking the water, every part of their celebration embraced the natural beauty of the Lowcountry while still feeling elegant, colorful, and incredibly inviting. Living […]

Bridal portraits offer a rare pause in the wedding season – a moment to step away from timelines and celebrations and focus entirely on the bride herself. Bri’s bridal portrait session took place at a private residence in downtown Charleston, and the setting could not have been more perfect. Rich teal walls, layered textures, patterned […]
