Sarah and Jake have been together for ten years. That kind of history shows up in subtle ways – in ease, in trust, in the way two people move through a day without needing to perform. Living in New York City, with Jake’s parents based in Charleston, Planters Inn felt like a natural place for their celebration: charming, elegant, and perfectly suited for an intimate celebration with their closest family + friends. This Planters Inn wedding was definitely one for the books!
The morning unfolded slowly. Friends gathered to help each of them get ready, not as a formal wedding party, but simply as the people closest to them. To ease the nerves and maximize their time together, Sarah and Jake opted for a First Look and portraits off-site, which gave them time to be present with each other before the festivities began. A personalized ceremony, followed by cocktail hour in the courtyard, set the stage for the evening celebration to come. The transition from courtyard to interior gave the evening a beautiful rhythm – open and airy at first, then intimate and energetic as the night went on.
Visually, the day leaned classic – clean lines, soft florals, timeless details – but there was nothing stiff about it. Sarah and Jake were clear from the beginning that they weren’t interested in overly posed or ‘cheesy’ photographs. They wanted moments that felt real. And those moments were everywhere: quiet glances, movement through doorways, laughter between dances, the in-between pieces that make a wedding feel lived in rather than staged.
This Planters Inn Charleston wedding was a reminder that elegance doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes it’s found in restraint. In choosing quality over quantity. In creating a day that reflects a relationship built over time, not a single moment. Sarah and Jake’s wedding felt exactly like that – timeless, intentional, and deeply their own.

Some wedding days are beautiful. Others are joyful. And then there are the rare ones that feel like joy in motion – the kind you can feel in every frame, every laugh, every stolen glance. Rachel and Mac’s wedding at Magnolia Plantation was exactly that. From the very beginning, they chose to experience the day […]

For Jennie, Sea Pines has never been just a wedding destination – it’s home. Long before this day, she spent summers working in Harbour Town, learning its rhythms, its light, and the way life slows down just enough on Hilton Head Island. So when it came time to choose where she and Greg would get […]

Some places hold more than memories – they hold generations. For Madeline + Porter, Hilton Head wasn’t just a beautiful setting for their wedding day at Sea Pines Resort; it was part of their family story long before they ever said “I do.” With both of their parents having been married on Hilton Head and […]

Nine years of growing up together gives you a certain steadiness – the kind that doesn’t panic when plans unravel. That quiet confidence defined Walker + Addi Grace’s wedding day at Boone Hall, even as steady rain reshaped nearly every detail of their celebration. High school sweethearts who met as freshmen and now call Columbia, […]

Some wedding days unfold exactly as planned. Others ask you to let go, adapt, and trust what matters most. Lauren and Billy’s wedding at Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head was very much the latter – and in many ways, that’s what made it so meaningful. Elegant, sophisticated, and deeply classic in style, their day […]

Mayzie + Hyrum’s intimate celebration at the Ocean Course on Kiawah gave me allllll of the Ralph Lauren vibes. When I look back at these images, I’m instantly transported – there’s something so Americana and nostalgic about the day, in the best possible way. Maybe it’s the classic blue hydrangea bouquet, effortlessly timeless. Maybe it’s […]
