Middleton Place is one of my very favorite venues in Charleston. The gardens are spectacular, the vibe is so romantic, and the best part? The sheep! It’s no wonder Emmy + Ian chose Middleton as the place for them to get married! With the help of the fabulous team at MOD Events, their vision for a romantic garden-inspired celebration came to life in the most magical way.
Though the forecast had been calling for rain all week, showers left the area early in the morning and the rest of the day was perfection. Overcast skies make for the BEST photos!!
Following their First Look under the oaks, Emmy + Ian shared private vows. I am LOVING this new tradition! So many couples are now opting to do private personal vows after their First Look and it’s always such a sweet + intimate moment to capture.
After some portraits around the property, we met up with their wedding party and family for formal photos in the Octagonal Garden – and shortly thereafter, guests started to arrive for their ceremony. Following a sweet ceremony officiated by Ian’s brother in law, guests enjoyed the beauty of Middleton while drinking cocktails under the oaks. Dancing and celebration followed – and the dance floor was PACKED all night. Emmy, Ian, and their friends + family really know how to party! Here are some of my favorites from Emmy + Ian’s beautiful Middleton Place wedding…

I first met Tori back in 2016 when I photographed her older sister Kiersten’s wedding. Little did I know then that I would go on to photograph their sister Chelsea’s wedding in 2021 – and finally Tori’s wedding in 2024! Legacy clients are so special and the Stolen family means so much to me. They […]
When I first spoke to Elizabeth last June, I knew that her wedding day was going to be something special. She spoke about getting married in her hometown of Beaufort SC – first, a sweet ceremony at her local church, followed by a tented waterfront celebration filled with bright colors and palm accents. Elizabeth wanted […]
Lizzie + Nick’s colorful Charleston wedding at the William Aiken House was definitely one for the books. I absolutely loved spending this beautiful spring day with them, their families, and closest friends. The historic charm of the venue combined with Charleston’s vibrant atmosphere created a truly memorable setting for their colorful celebration. Lush floral arrangements […]
I was introduced to Cait through former DCW bride and fellow photographer, Lindsay, who had worked with Cait previously, but was not available for her wedding day. I’m SO thankful that Lindsay connected us because I immediately fell in love with Cait and her vision for a sweet, intimate wedding celebration in Charleston. Caitlin’s parents […]
When Katie first told me about her wedding day vision – a classic brunch wedding overlooking the water at the iconic Ocean Course on Kiawah Island – I knew it was going to be such a beautiful celebration. There really isn’t anything like a Kiawah Island wedding! A custom Modern Trousseau ball gown, topped with […]
I met up with Dawn + Joey in February for their beautiful engagement session here in Charleston. They brought their two beautiful pups, Willow + Cricket, along for part of the session… and boy, did they have a blast at Hampton Park?!? I am totally OBSESSED with the photos of them walking together (below) because […]
