There is absolutely nothing better than working with clients who completely trust you. Clients who look to you for your expert opinion and advice. Clients who give you time to create and trust that you know what you’re doing. Clients who just let you “do your thing”. These are the types of clients I seek out as a wedding photographer because there is nothing more inspiring, more motivating, more amazing than knowing that your clients trust you and your vision for their wedding day.
Amazing things happen when you completely trust your photographer. They feel the freedom to CREATE. They feel the freedom to INNOVATE. They feel the freedom to try something new. This is when the magic really happens.
My biggest piece of advice for couples is to find a photographer whose style you like, whose personality makes you feel at ease, and maybe most importantly – a photographer who you trust. Giving your photographer the freedom – and time – to create on your wedding day is so important if you want truly authentic, one-of-a-kind images that you’ll cherish forever. All of my very favorite images have come on days where my couples completely trusted me + my vision, gave me creative freedom to choose the best locations, continuously asked me for input throughout the process, and maybe most importantly, gave me the TIME to create those images by doing a First Look and allowing me to build their timeline around photos.
To prove my point, here are some of my favorite images to date… all made possible by amazing clients who trusted me and my wild ideas. Thank you for agreeing to go off-site for photos on your wedding day, allowing me to find the best light + new locations along the way, for doing a First Look so we have plenty of time for photos, for believing in me and trusting my vision for a photo, trekking through tall grass and getting on boats and whatever else catches my eye, for walking a little further “just to see”, and for not bogging me down with crazy shot lists and Pinterest boards of photos to recreate. You all make my heart skip a beat and I hope the resulting photos make yours skip too!

Becca + Stephen’s art deco inspired wedding at the American Theatre in downtown Charleston was one for the books! Their day was filled with so much love, joy, and thoughtfulness – I swear, the best weddings are always the ones that are centered around the couple and their family + friends. Sure, pretty details are […]
2025 got off to the very best start with Maggie + Britt! I absolutely ADORE these two and their wedding day was the perfect way to start the new year. Their shared love of the water and all of the natural beauty that the Lowcountry has to offer made the Regatta Inn a no-brainer choice […]
Payton + Connor’s rainy celebration at Lowndes Grove was the PERFECT way to close out the 2024 wedding season. When I first spoke with Payton, she told me that she envisioned a colorful wedding day – despite being married in late December. I LOVE that she went with bright florals and colors because it was […]
Hannah + Matt’s intimate brunch wedding at The Sanctuary on Kiawah was such a special celebration. If there are two things I LOVE, it’s an intimate wedding and brunch! Combine them together and it’s the perfect recipe for a memorable soiree. Can I specialize in brunch weddings? Pretty please?! I just love them! The morning […]
Ashley + Kyle’s wedding day was, in a word, magic. These two share such a beautiful love and I am beyond thankful to have witnessed it first hand. Ashley is pure JOY in human form and she absolutely glows in Kyle’s presence. The way they look at each other and care for each other is […]
