Pamela + Jess’ wedding day was incredible, albeit a little wet. Mother Nature decided to throw us a curve ball when it started POURING right after Pamela + Jess’ First Look. We literally had to run onto someone’s front porch to stay dry since we had no idea it was coming!! Despite that fun surprise, the rest of the day was actually pretty darn amazing. Pamela + Jess were surrounded by so much love + support on their wedding day – it was beautiful to see. On an already stressful day, made even more stressful by the unexpected weather, these two definitely weathered their first storm together (pun INTENDED) with grace.
Their day started with a sweet First Look and Jess’ reaction to seeing his bride for the first time was everything a bride could hope for. We started portraits with Pamela + Jess and we got about 5 poses in before the skies opened up. Luckily, we were able to jump onto someone’s front porch to keep dry… but wow. That was a surprise! After 10 minutes or so, the rain let up enough for us to get Pamela + Jess back to the lighthouse, where we joined their bridal party. As the rain continued to fall, our only option was to have everyone stay on the front porch for photos as we stood out in the rain… thanks to Kelly, my awesome assistant, for holding an umbrella over my head!!
The skies cleared for their ceremony, so we started 15 minutes earlier than scheduled to outrun more rain that was moving into the area. Pamela + Jess had their dream ceremony, outdoors overlooking the water. Thank you, Mother Nature, for gifting this wonderful couple with a few minutes of dryness!! I know this was so important to them and I’m thrilled that they were able to get married outside!! After the ceremony, everyone headed to the clubhouse for the reception. Guests dined on amazing food and the dance floor was PACKED all night!! At the end of the evening, Pamela + Jess exited through a tunnel of sparklers… the perfect ending to an exciting wedding day. Here are some of my favorites from Pamela + Jess’ rainy Haig Point wedding…

Some wedding days unfold exactly as planned. Others ask you to let go, adapt, and trust what matters most. Lauren and Billy’s wedding at Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head was very much the latter – and in many ways, that’s what made it so meaningful. Elegant, sophisticated, and deeply classic in style, their day […]

Mayzie + Hyrum’s intimate celebration at the Ocean Course on Kiawah gave me allllll of the Ralph Lauren vibes. When I look back at these images, I’m instantly transported – there’s something so Americana and nostalgic about the day, in the best possible way. Maybe it’s the classic blue hydrangea bouquet, effortlessly timeless. Maybe it’s […]

When it comes to tipping wedding vendors, there’s often a lot of conflicting information – especially when it comes to tipping photographers. Should you tip them? If so, how much? And who exactly should receive it – the lead photographer or their team? The truth is, while tipping your wedding photographer is never expected, it’s […]

Erin and Buddy’s Ocean Course Kiawah wedding was a day designed to feel calm, unrushed, and genuinely enjoyable for everyone involved, especially the two of them. The morning unfolded slowly, just as they’d planned. No chaos, no overstuffed schedule. Erin and Buddy got ready separately, knowing they had built in what so many couples forget […]

Some wedding days go exactly as planned. Nicole and Thomas’ Boone Hall wedding reminded me why the ones that don’t often stay with you the longest. The morning began bright and full of promise — sunshine filtering through the trees, that unmistakable calm before everything begins. Boone Hall in the summer always feels expansive and […]

Alyssa and Joe’s colorful Magnolia Plantation wedding was the kind of wedding day that I just LOVE photographing – easy, joyful, and beautifully unbothered by expectation. Last summer, they gathered about 50 of their closest family and friends for a brunch celebration that felt more like a garden party than a formal event, and that […]
