California residents Julia + David were definitely not going to let a little rain ruin their wedding day. Despite steady rain ALL DAY, courtesy of Tropical Storm Bonnie, these two chose to embrace it and make the best of things – and I’m pretty sure the weather helped to create an even more memorable, calm, and romantic atmosphere for Julia + David’s amazing celebration.
David + Julia shared a sweet and emotional First Look on the front porch of the main house at Old Wide Awake. David’s reaction when he saw his beautiful bride for the very first time was absolutely priceless. Julia + David decided to shake things up with their bridal party by including a bridesman on Julia’s side and a groomswoman on David’s side! I love that they did things their way and didn’t feel the need to stick to silly traditions. David + Julia said “I do!” on the front porch of the house as their closest family + friends cheered them on. It was such a beautiful, touching ceremony and the steady rain just made it that much more romantic.
Local food truck Coastal Crust pulled up to serve Julia, David + their guests throughout the evening – serving draft beers, wine, crostini, focaccia, and wood fired pizza! To make things even more unique, Julia decided to incorporate mismatched vintage china into her wedding design, so guests enjoyed pizza on fine china! So cool! As the rain continued to fall throughout the night, David + Julia danced and sang with their guests under the tent before heading out at the end of the night. It was an amazing day that I feel extremely honored to have been a part of. Here are some of my favorites from Julia + David’s eclectic Old Wide Awake wedding here in Charleston…

Hannah + Matt’s intimate brunch wedding at The Sanctuary on Kiawah was such a special celebration. If there are two things I LOVE, it’s an intimate wedding and brunch! Combine them together and it’s the perfect recipe for a memorable soiree. Can I specialize in brunch weddings? Pretty please?! I just love them! The morning […]
Ashley + Kyle’s wedding day was, in a word, magic. These two share such a beautiful love and I am beyond thankful to have witnessed it first hand. Ashley is pure JOY in human form and she absolutely glows in Kyle’s presence. The way they look at each other and care for each other is […]
From the moment I first spoke to Sandra, I knew her wedding day was going to be something special. She had a clear vision of a day filled with special details, personalized moments, and a celebration of love that was truly unique to her and Matt’s love story. Being in the fashion world, I knew […]
There’s something undeniably magical about Charleston SC. The cobblestone alleyways, the historic charm, and the gentle breeze off of the water – which creates the perfect setting for love to flourish. When I had the opportunity to capture Hannah + Ashley’s engagement session on an overcast day this past September, I knew it would be […]
Hilton Head is a special place to Abby + Greyson, as Abby’s parents live there and she’s been visiting the area for years. I always love how the magic of Hilton Head and Sea Pines brings families together on such an incredible day. This September wedding day at Sea Pines started off with torrential rain […]
Somehow, it’s already February and I just realized that I haven’t posted my year-end recap from 2024. Yikes! Better late than never, I suppose! If I’m being totally honest and transparent, 2024 was a difficult year for me + my mindset. Self-doubt, not knowing where I “fit in”, feeling jealousy of other photographers, and not […]
