I met up with Sarah + Logan, who came down from Charlotte, at the end of September for their sweet engagement session in historic downtown Charleston. On the most perfect fall evening, we spent time walking through my favorite neighborhood, South of Broad, and chatting all about their wedding plans. I love shooting engagement sessions with my couples. Not only is it a wonderful time to get to know each other, it also makes the wedding day a little less awkward since they have already met me. I highly recommend doing an engagement session if you or your partner are even a little bit nervous about having photos taken. It can make a big difference, for sure!
When I spoke with Sarah + Logan, they told me that they wanted a classic feel to their engagement photos – so the stunning architecture of Charleston, along with charming iron gates, gas lamps, and brick streets were the perfect backdrop for this session. As we walked together, Sarah + Logan chatted about their wedding plans, as well as what they are most excited for on their wedding day. And believe it or not, as we were strolling, we came upon the very house where they first met at a party! So random – and of course we had to take some photos there! I had the very best time with them and I’m already so excited for their wedding celebration coming up this April! Without further ado, here are some of my favorites from Sarah + Logan’s classic downtown Charleston engagement session…

I first met Tori back in 2016 when I photographed her older sister Kiersten’s wedding. Little did I know then that I would go on to photograph their sister Chelsea’s wedding in 2021 – and finally Tori’s wedding in 2024! Legacy clients are so special and the Stolen family means so much to me. They […]
When I first spoke to Elizabeth last June, I knew that her wedding day was going to be something special. She spoke about getting married in her hometown of Beaufort SC – first, a sweet ceremony at her local church, followed by a tented waterfront celebration filled with bright colors and palm accents. Elizabeth wanted […]
Lizzie + Nick’s colorful Charleston wedding at the William Aiken House was definitely one for the books. I absolutely loved spending this beautiful spring day with them, their families, and closest friends. The historic charm of the venue combined with Charleston’s vibrant atmosphere created a truly memorable setting for their colorful celebration. Lush floral arrangements […]
I was introduced to Cait through former DCW bride and fellow photographer, Lindsay, who had worked with Cait previously, but was not available for her wedding day. I’m SO thankful that Lindsay connected us because I immediately fell in love with Cait and her vision for a sweet, intimate wedding celebration in Charleston. Caitlin’s parents […]
When Katie first told me about her wedding day vision – a classic brunch wedding overlooking the water at the iconic Ocean Course on Kiawah Island – I knew it was going to be such a beautiful celebration. There really isn’t anything like a Kiawah Island wedding! A custom Modern Trousseau ball gown, topped with […]
I met up with Dawn + Joey in February for their beautiful engagement session here in Charleston. They brought their two beautiful pups, Willow + Cricket, along for part of the session… and boy, did they have a blast at Hampton Park?!? I am totally OBSESSED with the photos of them walking together (below) because […]
