From the very first time I met Caitlin, I knew she was going to be one of my very favorite brides ever. Don’t get me wrong, I love ALL of my brides… but every once in a while, I connect with one of them on an even deeper level. We sat in the coffee shop during our first meeting and chatted for hours about our shared love of dogs, tacos, Heidi Gibson (check out Caitlin’s engagement ring) and her amazing relationship with fiance, Joe. And when I met Joe during their engagement session in late 2016, I knew I was going to be in for a treat on their wedding day. These two are meant for each other and they are one of the sweetest, funniest, happiest couples I’ve ever met!
Their day started off with a sweet First Look at the William Aiken House. Joe’s reaction to seeing Caitlin as a bride was PRICELESS!! It was probably one of my favorite First Look reactions of all time!! Their three dogs – Tucker, Tucker, and Keegan (yup, they have two dogs named Tucker) – joined them for photos as well. Caitlin + Joe actually met while walking their dogs near their apartment. Joe was walking his dog, Tucker, and Caitlin was walking her dog, Tucker. Caitlin called for her pup and Joe casually asked her “is your dog named Tucker?” to which Caitlin replied “yes – why else would I call him that?” So, the pups naturally had to be there on the wedding day!!
Before long, Caitlin + Joe were reciting their vows in front of their family + friends. Caitlin danced up the aisle after being pronounced husband and wife… these two wear their emotions on their sleeve and you could see + feel their excitement all day (and night) long! After a seated dinner, Caitlin + Joe danced the night away and exited through a tunnel of sparklers at the end of the night. It was a day I’ll never forget and I feel extremely lucky to have been a part of it all. Here are some of my favorites from Caitlin + Joe’s gorgeous Charleston wedding at the William Aiken House…

When a place has been woven into your family’s traditions for years, there’s something especially meaningful about beginning your marriage there. For Addison, Kiawah Island has been a beloved part of life since childhood. So when it came time to choose a wedding location, bringing family and friends together on the island where so many […]

Charleston weather likes to keep everyone on their toes, but even by Lowcountry standards, Caroline and Cody’s wedding day was memorable. Rain fell for most of the day – a rarity in Charleston, especially when it seems determined to stick around from morning until ceremony time. Yet through every forecast update, timeline adjustment, and weather-related […]

Some wedding days are beautiful because of the details. Others are beautiful because of the people. Ansley and James’ wedding in Columbia, South Carolina was the rare combination of both. After seven years together, these two gathered their favorite people for a celebration that felt joyful, colorful, and completely centered on the relationships that matter […]

Maren and Kevin’s wedding at Ford Field + River Club in Savannah was the kind of day that felt effortlessly relaxed from beginning to end. Set beneath the Spanish moss and overlooking the water, every part of their celebration embraced the natural beauty of the Lowcountry while still feeling elegant, colorful, and incredibly inviting. Living […]

Bridal portraits offer a rare pause in the wedding season – a moment to step away from timelines and celebrations and focus entirely on the bride herself. Bri’s bridal portrait session took place at a private residence in downtown Charleston, and the setting could not have been more perfect. Rich teal walls, layered textures, patterned […]

Some wedding days just feel easy in the best possible way – not because nothing is happening, but because everything unfolds exactly as it should, surrounded by the people who matter most. Dana and Hayden’s celebration at Cannon Green was exactly that kind of day. The morning began at their home here in Charleston, a […]
