Some weddings stay with you long after you’ve delivered the final gallery. Natalie and Matt’s wedding at the William Aiken House is one of those days for me. From the very beginning, their vision felt clear and joyful — a true spring garden party, full of color, life, and intention. On a beautiful Saturday in April, Charleston showed up in the most beautiful way – wrapping their day in soft light, blooming gardens, and that unmistakable Southern charm that makes the William Aiken House feel so timeless.
What struck me immediately was the color. Confident, vibrant, and happy. Bright spring hues layered seamlessly with lush florals and classic elements, creating a day that felt elegant yet never stiff. Everything felt alive. It was the kind of color palette that doesn’t just photograph beautifully — it makes you feel something. Forever and always, Team COLOR!!

Natalie poured so much of herself into this day, especially through the wedding paper, which she designed herself. Every piece felt thoughtful and cohesive, carrying their garden-party vision from start to finish. Those personal details are always what elevate a wedding from beautiful to meaningful, and this day was full of them. The William Aiken House was the perfect setting for their celebration — historic, refined, and quietly romantic. The contrast between the classic architecture and the vibrant florals created such a stunning balance. It felt timeless and fresh all at the same time, which is a combination I’m endlessly drawn to as a photographer.
But more than anything, this wedding felt joyful. The kind of joy that’s easy and natural — woven into the way Natalie and Matt looked at each other, the way their people showed up for them, and the way the day unfolded without trying too hard to be anything other than exactly what it was. This is the kind of wedding I hope to photograph again and again — couples who aren’t afraid of color, who care deeply about design, and who want their wedding to feel like an elevated reflection of who they are. Thoughtful, expressive, classic, and full of heart.
Natalie and Matt’s day was a reminder of why I love photographing weddings that lean into beauty and feeling in equal measure — and I’m so grateful I got to document it. Congratulations you guys and THANK YOU for allowing me to capture this incredible day for you + your families!

Sarah and Jake have been together for ten years. That kind of history shows up in subtle ways – in ease, in trust, in the way two people move through a day without needing to perform. Living in New York City, with Jake’s parents based in Charleston, Planters Inn felt like a natural place for […]

Some wedding days are carefully planned. Others unfold exactly the way they’re meant to. Melissa and Eric originally hired me to photograph their elopement closer to home near Lake Wylie. But when Melissa’s father became ill, everything shifted. Plans were paused, priorities reordered, and space was made for what mattered most. When the time felt […]

There’s something about being near the water that instantly slows everything down. Jordan and Greg were married at the Cottages at Charleston Harbor, and their wedding day unfolded with the kind of ease that can only be felt. An al fresco, tented celebration by the harbor, layered with soft light, movement, and color, it was […]

Sarah + Steven’s wedding day began quietly, in the best way. Beautiful light filtered into the girls’ getting ready suite at The Omni Hilton Head, where Sarah was getting ready – not alone, but alongside two very important people — Steve’s daughters, Lana and Leah. Joined also by her mother and sister, they laughed, helped, […]

This year FLEW by! I feel like I blinked and we’re just 3 days away from the New Year. It’s been a quick one, but it’s also been a great one. Personally, I’ve grown by leaps and bounds. Creatively, I’m rediscovering myself. 2025 was a year for getting back to my roots and undoing some […]

Some couples know exactly what they want. Not because they’ve seen it everywhere, but because it feels true to them. Alyse and Greg were that kind of couple. From our very first phone call, Alyse described her vision in just a few words: romantic, moody, editorial. No big production. No venue. No audience. Just the […]
