Last weekend, I traveled up to Beaufort, North Carolina for Sue + Brian’s fabulous waterfront destination wedding. I knew it was going to be a spectacular ending to the spring wedding season and it honestly was the perfect way to close out the spring. From Sue’s gorgeous Pronovias gown to the amazing navy Monique Lhuillier bridesmaid dresses and the simple white + yellow florals, the day was filled with personal touches and heartwarming moments that I am honored to have been able to capture.
We started the day off at the Olde Towne Yacht Club, where Sue + her bridesmaids got ready. Hair + makeup was done by Sue’s sister, Linda, and everyone looked amazing! The forecast warned of rain, but we surely lucked out. The radar showed storms in the area, but it completely bypassed us. Mother Nature must’ve been looking out for Sue + Brian and I’m definitely happy we didn’t have to use the umbrellas.
Their ceremony took place at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, which was so charming. Their reception took place at The Boathouse at Front Street Village, which afforded beautiful views of the water and the evening’s gorgeous red sunset. The entire day just flew by and I wish I had more time to spend in Beaufort. What a charming little town! A word of advice. If you’re ever in Beaufort, definitely check out Beaufort Grocery Co. It is a great spot for lunch (or dinner) and I can honestly say that I had the BEST sandwich there before the wedding. This place is for real. Definitely check them out if you’re ever there. Okay, enough about food – here are a few of my favorite images from Sue + Brian’s wedding…
This dress was to die for. The beadwork was just insane. My brides have SUCH amazing style!!This is one of my new favorite images. Love this! And this one. Sue, you were an absolutely stunning bride!A big thanks to my second shooter Katie for capturing these images of the guys getting ready. These bridesmaid dresses were so beautiful. Monique Lhuillier, I *heart* you!I just had to include this photo to show how windy it was. There was no rain, but plenty of wind. Through it all, Sue, Brian, their families + bridal party were troopers!I love this shot, captured by Katie right after the walked outside of the church. Pure bliss. The groomsmen took some time to catch the breeze between photos. So funny!Another favorite… but who am I kidding? I love them all! Look at the back of Sue’s dress.
