I have been spoiled the past few years because I have had the BEST team of second shooters by my side.  Now that they are starting to shoot their own weddings on a more frequent basis, I am looking to add another permanent second shooter (or two) to the DCW team.  This is an ideal situation for someone who doesn’t want to shoot their own weddings, but who wants to second shoot exclusively, as I’d prefer to work with someone on a consistent basis versus using multiple second shooters throughout the wedding season.  I shoot 30+ weddings a year, so you would be able to stay busy most of the year with me!

While having strong technical skills is important, personality is definitely a big factor.  I need someone who is fun, energetic, tactful, calm under pressure + 100% professional to help represent me + my brand to clients + vendors within the industry.  You must be hard-working, reliable, eager to learn, and able to take initiative when needed.  I will teach you + give you all of the tools needed to succeed in this position, but you need to be able to work without constant supervision on the wedding day.

Applicants must have professional gear that includes a full-frame camera body, lenses that cover from 24-200mm, speedlite(s), and backup equipment.  Must have some prior knowledge of on-camera flash as well, since we experience a variety of lighting situations on the wedding day and you must be able to utilize your flash if needed.

This is a paid position, with pay based on experience.  If you do not have a business license and a current Certificate of Insurance (COI) for your own photography business, you will be paid as an employee instead of an independent contractor.  Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel – mostly locally – as needed.

This would be an ideal position for someone who specializes in another genre of photography, but is interested in supplementing their income with weekend work.  Most weddings are Saturday + Sunday, with some Thursday, Friday + Monday weddings occasionally.  My second shooters typically work 6-8 hours on the wedding day and do not need to stay until the end of the evening.  I generally let my second shooters leave after cocktail hour – so no late nights!!  If you or someone you know is interested, please have them email me at info{at}danacubbageweddings{dot}com.
